At The University of Kansas Cancer Center, Caleb Ostronic is battling a rare form of leukemia, but he’s not battling it alone. The young Eudora, Kansas man had hoped to be playing college baseball this spring, but cancer changed those plans. While he awaits a stem cell transplant, his family and his love of baseball are providing support. The Royals’ Salvador Perez, a fellow catcher, sent him a social media greeting as well as a basket with a signed ball from Sal and some dirt from the Kauffman Stadium field. Doctors say baseball is helping Caleb in another way too. It has given him a strong body to help him in his cancer battle.

In the video Caleb talks about baseball and his fight against leukemia. There is video of Caleb and his family. Also, hematologist Dr. Anurag Singh of The University of Kansas Cancer Center discusses the aggressive cancer Caleb is fighting and how his attitude and physical conditioning are helping.
