In acknowledgment of the growth of residents and workers in downtown Kansas City, Missouri, The University of Kansas Hospital is opening the first Urgent Care Clinic inside the downtown loop inside Sprint Center, Kansas City’s award winning arena.
Located inside Sprint Center’s Grand Lobby and next to the College Basketball Experience at 1403 Grand Boulevard, the Urgent Care Clinic will begin service on Monday, March 16, 2015, by seeing patients from 10:00 am to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Additional hours or days will be considered at a later date.
The Urgent Care Clinic will see all patients older than 6 months of age. Among the health problems the Urgent Care Clinic will address are:
- asthma, allergy, cold and flu symptoms
- cuts and scrapes
- rashes and burns
- sprains and fractures
“We’ve been part of Sprint Center from its beginning, including our current role taking care of athletes and fans at its sporting events,” said Bob Page, president and chief executive officer of The University of Kansas Hospital.
“With Sprint Center as the catalyst, we see people from all over the metro flocking downtown to live, work and play. They deserve access to basic healthcare close to their jobs and their homes,” said Page.
Page noted that the Urgent Care Clinic couldn’t have happened without the support and cooperation of AEG, operators of Sprint Center.
Page also pointed out The University of Kansas Hospital has been a major factor in the renaissance of Kansas City, Kansas.
